Thursday evening:
Went to the Rose and Crown with Kat & Martin XW8, Rachel and Kat's friend from work, wjo was very nice, but whose name has temporarily slipped my mind.  [profile] paul_sticks and  [profile] doctordavecame up from Basingstoke too and much fun was had by all.

Friday:
On Friday we loafed around the house all day.

Saturday:
On Saturday we went to [personal profile] shadowstone's birthday barbecue at Harvey Road, as organised by himself, [profile] wizlow, [profile] sauron19and no doubt  [profile] alison_bear. All very good, food was spectacular, company excellent, among others[personal profile] latentexistence[profile] card0, [personal profile] wolf_shadow, [profile] cathedrow, and [profile] jussard were also there, and a girl called Zoe, who used to sit behind me at Royal London PRT and is a good person, which is nice.

Sunday:
Loafed around the house. Roleplay with Kat in the evening, finished off Kat's Wild West game, although Toreador Pete wasn't able to make it due to a family emergency and Willow and Justin had sat out this section due to pressure of study and work. Oh well, next game is back to Jamie's Five Rings game where we get to pursue naughty people across the mountains.

Monday:
Yesterday was another quiet day, followed by a very good meal out with John and Laura at the Thai Dragon, which they hadn't been to before and thoroughly enjoyed. We always have excellent fun with John and Laura, this meal being a rematch after the last meal at the Ashiana a couple of months or so ago. This time we were reasonably restrained with the alcohol though, it being a work day today and all!

Kat's Wild West game
Not Deadlands, was it?

No, it's a chunk of our ongoing Ghouls WOD 1890's game, this chunk happened to be set in the Wild West.

We all have characters (6 of us) and three of the group take it in turns to run chunks. I "own" London, Paris and New York, Kat "owns" Africa and other rural / wild areas & runs chunks set there, Jamie "owns" the middle east and Eastern Europe. We have a few shared NPC's but as the group tend to travel a lot it work's quite well.

Have played Deadlands though, about 12 years ago. It was okay. Kat played a talking puma IIRC.

Ah! I've never actually played Deadlands, mind, I was just being nosy. I'd forgotten the WoD Wild West setting. Is this WoD2, then?

To be honest we ignored the WOD wild west setting, Kat just made up what she wanted, although I think someone bought it.

It's not WOD2, it's the Ghouls expansion, running off 3rd Ed Vampire the Masquerade. We bought WOD2 and Vampire expansions, but didn't like so have never actually played it.

We use the 3rd Ed rules for lots of games unrelated to Vampire anyway. Kat's CSI Ankh-Morpork was based on Dark Ages Character Sheets and the 3rd Ed rules (ignoring magic / disciplines etc).

[grin] My WoD shopping stopped with VtM2, although I did succumb to buying Kindred of the East, being a sucker for that kind of thing.

The WW character sheets (and system) are pretty handy for generic games, it's true. At present I'm working up a game using the Feng Shui mechanics ...

LOL. We have a whole bookcase practically all WOD, mostly VtM, Some 1st Ed (some of that's in French), all of 2nd Ed and all of 3rd Ed VtM, I also have some Mage the Ascension, Werewolf, and core rulebooks for Changeling, Wraith, Hunter and the Demon one.

Have got a bunch of other stuff aswell, Quite a bit of Legend of the Five Rings, Shadowrun & AD&D, some SLA, Tales from the Floating Vagabond, Buffy etc.

*geeks off quietly into a corner*

[grin] I've got most of Shadowrun (except the adventures) and a couple of feet of WoD - but those were the two main ones I ran at university. I've got the cores for Werewolf, Changeling and Demon (recent acquisition through curiousity [grin]). Other than that, theres some D&D20, the Feng Shui stuff and a number of random items (eg Starchildren, IIRC). [grin] I bow to your WoD addiction, though! [grin]

I've just got the main KotE one. Oh, and the Dhampyr one, and possibly one other. It's been a while since I looked at them [grin].
