Well, considering it was a (partly family oriented) 40th birthday party for a friend of ours that Jamie had agreed to play music at as a favour to a good friend, a very rare occurrence. It wasn't too bad, if rather boring for Jamie.

I knew more people there than he did, as I know a *few* of the Kentwell and Town Watch Crowd, and was unsurprised that everyone's favourite revolutionary socialist was grinning so much as he had been eating hash cake all afternoon. Bloody hippies. I suppose at least he's a real (old) hippy.

Best part of the evening was talking to Pynch's mum Gina, about being a Beatnik in the 50's (black beret, black turtle neck, black below the knee trews), dancing to jazz, all night coffee bars and poetry readings in bizarre clubs. His stepdad's (adult) kids are in the Addicts. Why are other people's parents so much cooler than mine? Oh, and the stir Kat and I caused wearing corsets.

Down point was the whinging cow who complaining to Jamie about the choice of music he was playing, which had been requested by Pynch and friends. Still, Pynch was really happy with it, and it was his birthday so the silly cow can fuck off.

Comedy moment of the evening, was Pynch and Bev beginning to smooch to Angel's by Robbie Williams to realise Jamie was actually playing Arseholes by the Shirehorses. They were literally crying with laughter as they made their way to the bar.

Hmm, good easy going fun, with a really odd selection of people. Reminds me why I'm friends with Pynch.
