Hey I am having a great week!
Oct. 19th, 2005 11:10 pmOkay, so we have had no internet or TV from Monday til this afternoon, I don't care!!!
I went up to London for a preliminary interview yesterday with an agency for a specific job, wasn't too fussed about it, seems okay, money isn't bad. Guy didn't seem overly enthused about me. Fair enough.
Wandered out, wandered into another agency. Lady in there has a quick word, says she awfully sorry but she'd definitely like to register me, but it's half one by this point and she's not had a break since half eight and could I possibly come back in an hour. No problem, so I wander off and have a coffee across the road in Starschmucks.
Anyway, I come back, fill out the registration details and she gets me to do some standardised tests. I wasn't expecting much, I know my typing speed is only about 40 words per minute which is just about adequate, but I think, well I'll probably do reasonably well on the Excel,Word and Powerpoint tests.
And I do, I ROCK! Taking all three into account, I'm the highest scoring candidate they've had in there in as long as they can remember, averaging 90%. Once she saw my test results I was sorted, they offered to put me forward for 3 jobs on the spot (and I saw them with other candidates, it wasn't the usual spiel) and said she didn't think there'd be any problem, getting me over the minimum money I wanted.
I am SO smug. I rock. I even got over 40wpm on the typing test.
Yay, go me!!!
(Just have to hope the employers are as enthusiastic!)
