Looking forward to the Weekend.
Feb. 25th, 2005 08:14 pmThis weekend is shaping up to be a good one. Craig and Issy are coming to stay over and we, them and are going out to the Thai Dragon with Martin Oldgoth and Brigitte tomorrow. Hurrah! We're doing beer first at the Rose and Crown too. Mmm, beer. Mmm, thai food.
I'm all happy, nice to see Craig and Issy and Thai food too. The Thai Dragon is superb. We took The Last Dance there when they stayed last October and had a great time.
I have cut out the muslin for the overskirt now. I decided to make it up in scrap fabric first, a dummy run to make sure it fits over the petticoat. It shouldn't take long.
Next project is hopefully going to be a bustled petticoat - reasonably easy - and dress to wear over it - not easy. K@ has offered to lend me her dressmakers dummy, although it doesn't go big enough in the bust! :( I'm going to have to put one of my bras stuffed with socks on it!!! Still, it's not like I'm completely incompetent at draping patterns and I have a couple basic pattern outlines to work from. I'll tell you if I ever finish it!
Further to previous post I'm definitely feeling thyroidy. Had a definite cotton wool brain day today - couldn't concentrate on anything without real effort, kept getting distracted, made even worse by the fact I'd forgotten my walkman. Welcome to serious lack of focus! Must make appointment with doctor for blood test. Last one was October. I hate blood tests. I hate blood! And needles. Ick.
